Isolation Interviews: Luke (ThatTheatreGuy)

Next up in our series of Isolation Interviews, we have passionate theatregoers Luke. Luke has also done some follow spotting and assistant stage managing.

Q - What was the first show that you remember seeing?
A - The Lion King at the Lyceum in London!

Q - Whose performances/productions have had the biggest impact on you?
A - Waitress kicked started my re-love for theatre after seeing the show in July 2019 and I’d say Cursed Child because I’m a big Harry Potter fan and seeing the character who I grew up with on stage is just “magical”.

Q - What is your favourite musical movie?
A - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (the Donny Osmond version)

Q - What are your favourite show tunes?
A - Opening Up (Waitress), Everything Changes (Waitress), Screech In (Come From Away), Dead Mom (Beetlejuice) and I’d Rather Be Me (Mean Girls)

Q - Who are your favourite performers?
A - Lucie Jones, Sara Bareilles, Gavin Creel, Renee Rapp and Presley Ryan

Q - What's your favourite theatre memory?
A - Sitting front row and being able to witness Sara Bareilles perform in her own show during her West End debut stint as Jenna, it was something I never thought I’d get to do.

Q - Away from the theatre what are your other favourite hobbies?
A - I love reading (anything fiction or non-fiction), I’m an avid fan of sports too (football, cricket, NFL and Ice Hockey to name a few)

Q - Can you tell us something we might not know about you?
A - I once performed on a West End stage (Her Majesty’s Theatre) but passed out before I could go on for one of the songs
