Double G Comedy Rodeo - Edinburgh Fringe Interview

In our ongoing Edinburgh Fringe 2026 interview series, we are speaking to artists and creatives who are bringing their shows to the Scottish capital this summer.

In this interview, we speak with Geoff OFlanagan about their show Double G Comedy Rodeo.

What can you tell me about your show?
The Comedy Rodeo is a wild, fourth wall breaking 60-minute journey into the madness of stand-up comedy. Expect the unexpected and leave knowing you’ve ridden the Rodeo!

How would you describe the style of your show to anyone who has never seen you before?
Chaotic with just a touch of crazy. An insight into the mind of a seasoned Comedy Wrangler!

What was the lightbulb moment that led to the creation of this piece?
2024 Edinburgh Fringe seeing Rob Copland crowd surfing as Ed Tiernan direct him from the stage.

What makes 2026 the perfect year for this specific story or performance?
If not now, then when?

How will you mentally and physically prepare for a run at the Fringe?
I will diet for 6 months as, apart from a pair of Gold Lame Hot-Pants, I appear naked as the day I was born!

If you couldn’t use a flyer to attract audiences, what ridiculous object would you hand out to people to get them into your show?
Cowboy hats and small, warm miniature effigies (if you want to know, you’ll need to come to my show).

What is the one item in your Fringe Survival Kit that you can’t live without at the Fringe?
My coffee maker; a lifeline!

What would you deem as success at the end of the Fringe?
I am still alive and those who have seen my show still smile when they recall the moment we broke the fourth wall.

Other than your own show, are there any other shows you would recommend at the Fringe this year?
Absolutely anything and everything you can cram in. See as much comedy as you can; support it all!

What is one Edinburgh spot that you would recommend people to visit when they're not watching performances?
Can there be just one location? Arthurs Seat and if that’s not your thing take a walk along The Royal Mile!

Can you describe the show in 5 words?
Anarchic, Fast Paced, Bold, Explosive, Unfiltered

What keeps you inspired?
Knowing the audience leave with a smile and the knowledge the world can be a funny place!

What would you hope someone takes away from seeing the show?

Apart from the gifts they’ll receive, I hope they leave their stress behind and take away a small part of the Double G magic.

When and where can people see the show?
The Double G Comedy Rodeo can be enjoyed every night of the Fringe; 8pm at the Home Bar (Basement)
