In our ongoing Edinburgh Fringe 2026 interview series, we are speaking to artists and creatives who are bringing their shows to the Scottish capital this summer.
In this interview, we speak with Daniel Adolfsson about his show Bad Boy.
What can you tell me about your show?
Honest acting, brave guitarplay.
Where did the inspiration for this piece come from?
All the real-life characters I meet at any given time. The people I've lost and the ones I've found.
How have you approached developing the show?
in permanent flight mode.
How would you describe the style of the show?
Like Kerouac's “On the Road”. If the road had gone in circles. Through stuff.
Can you describe the show in 3 words?
Small but big.
How do you mentally and physically prepare for a run like the Fringe?
By working out, eating well, having a few extra sessions with my therapist, and saying goodbye to my friends.
Away from your show, what are you most looking forward to about being in Edinburgh?
Falling in love from a distance
Are there any other shows at the Fringe you’d like to recommend?
Lil Wenker, Olga Koch, Katie Norris and Gary Starr.
What was the first piece of theatre you saw which had a big impact on you?
Lars NorĂ©ns “Cold”. The latest would be Prima Facie.
What do you hope an audience member takes away from seeing the show?
A piece of my heart.
Where and when can people see your show?
Underbelly Cowgate at 01.00 pm.
Bad Boy is at the Edinburgh Fringe at Underbelly Cowgate from 5 – 30 Aug (not 17) at 1:00pm. Ticket information here: https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/bad-boy
