Last night I had the pleasure of watching Sweeney Todd at The Little Theatre in Leicester, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Showcased by KW Productions, the show follows the dark tale of Sweeney Todd, set in 19th-century Victorian London, who seeks vengeance against the judge who ruined his life
The whole show is haunting and intense, yet there was comedy woven throughout it, which made me chuckle every time. The production was very high quality, and you could tell it had been thoroughly thought out with direction by John Bale.
Each and every person on the stage was fully embraced in their role and showed the darkness and intensity of the story through their performance. Keiran Whelan-Newby gives an outstanding turn as the titular barber.
I applaud the whole cast & crew for the amazing production they put on. There were so many details throughout that really added to the whole experience.

The set design is commendable, and the way they used Sweeney Todd’s barber chair was excellent. I actually gasped out loud at the first murder and how they fell down into the bakehouse.
I also wanted to highlight the costumes & makeup as these looked really great. As with the set design, there were so many details that were reflective of the era the story is set in.
If you want to lose yourself in the haunting tale of Sweeney Todd, I would 100% recommend a trip to the Little Theatre this week to see this show whilst you have the chance!!
