Mamma Mia first opened in 1999, and over the years the show has become a global success both on stage and on screen. The show provides timeless songs from ABBA, great fun, and an evening away from it all on a Greek island.

The show follows Sophie, a young bride-to-be, who, after reading her mum's old diary, secretly invites three of her mum's previous lovers to her wedding in the hope of discovering who her father might be. Donna's best friends, Rosie and Tanya, also arrive for the wedding. The result is a hilarious, energetic musical showcasing those hits by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.
Donna is played by Jenn Griffin; she has a powerful voice. Her terrific performance gives a range of emotions; one of the standout musical moments is her rendition of 'The Winner Takes It All'.
Lauren Woolf as Rosie and Sarah Earnshaw as Tanya provide brilliant fun to the proceedings. Woolf provided great comedy throughout the show, as does Earnshaw, who adds glamour and personality to the role. Together, Donna and her Dynamos give a great performance of 'Super Trooper'.
Hazel Baldwin as Sophie and Samuel Downey as Sky bring youthful exuberance and high energy to their roles. They have a lovely chemistry together.
The three potential fathers, Bill (Simon Victor), Harry (Arvid Larsen) and Sam (Richard Taylor Woods) bring plenty of charm and charisma.
To top this, there's a brilliant ensemble who sing and dance superbly. Special mention to Ashton Sharp for his energetic dancing as Pepper.

The show's set, designed by Mark Thompson, is versatile despite its minimalist appearance. The costumes are colourful and the lighting by Howard Harrison complements the range of emotions throughout.
Mamma Mia is a fast-paced crowd-pleaser that is lapped up by the audience. The show ends in a rousing finale which has the audience up on their feet joining in. You depart the Greek island having enjoyed a great night of escapism and joy.
