An uplifting and joyous show with a story that shows us old friendships reuniting and unresolved tensions, but also shows us growth and brings comedy, depth, and wisdom throughout.
On the Celestial Star, a group of friends gathers for a showcase put on by the Miscast Talent Agency. Upon arrival, they meet the Miscast Minis, the up-and-coming talent of the agency who are confident, sassy, and sometimes a bit too honest!
The Minis are paired with the original cast as a mentoring exercise to learn from the originals. This quickly turns to the Minis mentoring the originals and helping them overcome their own fears, obstacles and challenges.
The show as a whole was thoroughly joyous, uplifting and enjoyable. Every actor on stage was fully embraced in the story and showed the characters' emotions well. The staging, set and lighting really added to the effect, especially during the storm scene.
A couple of personal highlights for me were the songs Confident & Let Me Be Your Star. I loved the wisdom the Miscast Mini shared before they started singing Confident, and during the song, I adored how you could literally see the character grow in confidence.
Let Me Be Your Star was simply wonderful. The connection between the characters was lovely to watch and brought a really wholesome feel to the show.
Overall, I thought the show was bright, joyful and fun. A wonderful night and I left feeling thoroughly uplifted. Well done to everyone involved!
