Next up in this series of Isolation Interviews, we have young actor Aaron Gelkoff. Last year Aaron shared the lead role of Adrian Mole in the London transfer of the Adrian Mole musical which originated at Curve.
Q - What was the first show that you remember seeing?
A - I remember seeing Matilda the year it opened with my grandma! I think that was my first one.
Q - What inspired you to get into acting?
A - Seeing people on the television and in the theatre just doing what they love made me realise that I wanted to do the same thing.
Q - Whose performance/s have had the biggest impact on you?
A - I think working with the legend that is Sharon D. Clarke was so inspiring and it was amazing to watch her be the fabulous person/actress/singer that she is.
Q - What is your favourite musical movie?
A - My favourite musical movie has got to be Les Miserables because it reminds me of when I was in Les Mis in 2015 and just because it is such a great film!
Q - What's the best piece of advice you've been given?
A - Just to stay humble and dream big, and you will do amazing things if you put your mind to it.
Q - How was the experience of playing Adrian Mole in the recent musical production at the Ambassadors Theatre?
A - It was really fun to play the leading role in Adrian Mole. I didn’t really get a break apart from the interval in the show but I had a blast performing in such an amazing show!
Q - What would be your dream roles in the future?
A - Definitely Evan Hansen. Fingers crossed!
Q - Away from the theatre what are your other favourite hobbies?
A I have an obsession with the TV Series Friends and watch it 24/7 if that counts!
I'd like to thank Aaron for his time in taking part and answering the questions. You can follow him over on Twitter https://twitter.com/AGelkoff
