In our ongoing Edinburgh Fringe 2026 interview series, we are speaking to artists and creatives who are bringing their shows to the Scottish capital this summer.
In this interview, we speak with Stacie Burrows about their show Fool's Goldmine.
What can you tell me about your show?
I’m awfully proud of this show in particular because I’m showing vulnerability around money issues, but at the same time, I’m bringing funny stories and really beautiful, original music.

How would you describe the style of your show to anyone who has never seen you before?
I’ve been told that my shows are very relatable and accessible. It doesn’t matter how big or small the venue is, I like to make my shows as intimate as possible, as if I’m just telling stories to my closest friends.
What makes 2026 the perfect year for this specific story or performance?
Because I’m dead-broke. I always write from where I’m standing at the time. It helps me process and appreciate the struggle. Without struggle, we don’t have anything to talk about.
How will you mentally and physically prepare for a run at the Fringe?
Is that even possible? That’s like saying to a new mother to rest up before the baby comes. Ha ha. Fringe is my personal Christmas. It’s my favorite month of the year. I’ll bring my litany of vitamins and supplements, comfortable walking shoes, and my optimism.
If you couldn’t use a flyer to attract audiences, what ridiculous object would you hand out to people to get them into your show?
Fake credit cards.
What is the one item in your Fringe Survival Kit that you can’t live without this month?
Patience.

What would you deem as success at the end of the Fringe?
Finishing strong and trying to avoid illness. Also, having a truck-load of new Fringe friends. Also, stars, baby. All the stars.

Can you describe the show in 5 words?
I’m going to cheat and use hyphens to get more words:
Self-reflective, non-judgmental, Belly-laughs, Tear-streaked cheeks.
What keeps you inspired?
The satisfaction of knowing that someone else has been there, too and we can commiserate after the show.
What would you hope someone takes away from seeing the show?
I hope they see themselves in the show and are kind-hearted to their inner child.
