The large venue was sold out, and 150 Jurassic Park fans sat, eagerly awaiting the parody lunacy about to follow...

I love a Spielberg, and I know this film very well. The two actors (and one onstage SFX master) had an incredible energy and clearly a deep love affair with their knowledge of it. The opening scene was a complete reenactment of the opening movie scene, using an umbrella for a gun and a cardboard box for the delivery crate. It was ludicrous and very well done. With a quick blackout, and the cheers and squeals of the audience ringing in my ears, we begin the next scene...

Quite literally, the very next scene of the movie. There is nothing missed from this parody, and in the end, to their detriment sadly, lost me, which was such a shame! As the piece was almost line for line, my mind began wondering 40 minutes in whilst thinking, 'but they still need to do the power off, Ellie's run to the control room, Dr Grant's climb over the fence with the kids, Tim's electrocution, the jelly shake, the famous kitchen, and and and...'. And because of this, it dragged.

Everyone there was the film's fan, therefore - we all know it too! It needed some editing, and more of the quirky 'non-human' bits for the real laughs, because they had been cleverly manifested for us to 'get', like the excavation xray, the helicopter, the dinosaurs, the other film mentions thrown in occasionally.

It was a lot of fun, and quite clearly a lot of energy and hard work had gone into it. The tip-of-the-hat basic props for each character worked excellently, and the SFX were so well timed. Overall, good fun.
